Fly fishing presents youths with opportunities to build their skills and self confidence in the sport of angling.
The entire team appreciate all fundraising efforts and donations to enable them to continue to support the youths in this fantastic sport and give them the ability to have years of fishing memories and experiences.

Loch Insch Fishery Competition Report
52 anglers took part in the final Youth Fundraiser of the 2023 campaign at Loch Insch Fishery on Saturday 04/03/2023.
Anglers drew a peg in the morning and rotated every 30mins, 5 pegs clockwise over the 2 ponds.
Fish were caught from when the first whistle was blown with a lot of anglers bagging up with their 5 fish limits from a peg. Fish were steadily caught throughout the morning from both ponds with anglers still taking their bag limits.
By lunchtime a total of 450 fish
were caught and safely released.
The anglers stopped for a warm lunch before starting again.
The afternoon proved slightly tougher for some anglers but perseverance throughout the afternoon session produced a further 189 fish. There were a few big fish caught over the course of the day and the biggest landed was 17lb 1oz caught by Lee Anderson.
There was a total of 639 fish landed over the course of the day for 52 anglers making a rod average of 12.28 which is a
credit to fishery owner David Murray on how the fishery is fishing at the moment.
Prizes on the day were handed out from 1st to 10th place. The top 3 anglers on the day were;
1st – James Litster 33 fish for 44 points
2nd – Neil Scowen 31 fish for 41 points (9.34am)
3rd – David Simpson 31 fish for 41 points (9.35am)
A number of the youth team were in attendance all day to show appreciation to the anglers and fishery for their
continued support. The team walked round talking to anglers, taking photos, and giving the odd bit of advice over the course of the day.
The team ran an auction and raffle before the prize giving which helped boost the total raised on the day. This amounted to an amazing £1400!
The Youth team would like thank Loch Insch Fishery and all anglers for their generosity and continued support. We would also like to thank all our sponsors and everyone for prizes and donations made towards the raffles.

PAST FUNDRAISING EVENTS (2022)
Kinross Trout Fishery Competition Report
39 anglers took part in the Youth Fundraiser at Kinross Fishery on Saturday 26/11/2022. Anglers drew a peg in the morning and rotated every 30mins, 3 pegs anticlockwise over the 3 ponds. Fish were caught steadily throughout the day with all ponds producing fish with Doug and Charlie producing steadily.
There were a few big fish caught over the course of the day and the biggest landed was 12lb 7oz caught by David Eadie. At lunchtime we had a few anglers out in front but by the end at the final whistle we had a clear winner.
1st – Lee Ogilvey 16 fish for 26 points
2nd – David Simpson 11 fish for 18points
3rd – David Eadie 8 fish for 14 points
A total of 159 fish were caught with a couple of non-returns logged.
The youth team was in attendance all day to show appreciation to the anglers and fishery for their continued support. The kids walked round talking to anglers, taking photos, and giving the odd bit of advice over the course of the day. PAST FUNDRAISING EVENTS (2022)
The committee would just like to say a massive well done to, Joshua, Jamie, Rory, Aaron and Thomas who were at the Hailey Fundraiser today and took time to walk round and speak to anglers and help with everything today.
You all did great and the feedback we received from the anglers and staff about how great it was having you all there has definitely raised
the profile and support for the youth team.
The competition conditions were very tough for the anglers with high winds and rain at times. A few of the anglers got off to a great start off their first pegs with a couple of anglers catching the 5 fish limit but with the ever-changing weather conditions thing became tougher for the field of anglers.
Lunchtime came and anglers enjoyed a great spread of food laid on by the fishery and half time results showed it close with over a half dozen anglers in the running.
At the end of the day;
1st – Brian McKenzie was the clear winner with 28 fish for 37 points
2nd – Ross McKeen with 20 fish for 27 points
3rd – Nigel Burns with 19 fish for 27 points.
Over 200 fish were caught by 29 anglers
